Costa Tropical

At about 40 minutes drive lies the Costa Tropical, the coast of the province of Granada. The Costa Tropical has beautiful beaches and bays with crystal clear water where a wide variety of water sports are offered.

The sun shines 320 days a year in this coastal area and provides an average temperature of 20° C. Thanks to this mild climate, all kinds of tropical fruit grow here which causes fruit to be one of the main sources of revenue for this region.

On the Costa Tropical are many interesting places such as Nerja, Almunecar, Castell de Ferro, Motril, La Herradura and beautifulo Salobrena, which certainly are worth visiting.

Nerja
Nerja is a wonderful city with beautiful beaches and a lovely town centre, nice shopping streets and terraces. Just outside Nerja are the famous caves with a corridorsystem of about 5 kilometers. One stalactite in the cave has a height of 32 meters. You can visit those caves daily.

Almunecar
This resort has been loved by the spanish for years and its typical Spanish atmosphere is still fully preserved. There is a broad boulevard along the expansive beach with several beach pavilions, terraces and excellent restaurants. In the old town, the Moorish influences with narrow streets and remnants of the Moorish fortress are still clearly visible. Furthermore there are places like the botanical garden with bird park and an archaeological museum. In the area are barely discovered villages and beaches.

Salobrena
Salobrena is an old, well preserved town on a cliff above the sea. There are curved, sometimes steep streets and whitewashed houses. A stroll through the city center overlooking the sea is profitable. The beautiful castle above the village is daily opened for visits.
